Christ John Ticoras, MD, FAAD

Dr. Ticoras was born and raised in Warren, Ohio and attended The Ohio State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy, Summa Cum Laude with Distinction in 1987. During his time at OSU, he completed significant research on retinoids culminating in several publications. 

He continued his education at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree as well as being awarded the prestigious Dean’s Award for the most outstanding graduate in the class of 1991. During his time at Wright State he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and served as Class President.

He served his internship in Internal Medicine (1991-1992) and completed his residency at the Wright State University Integrated Dermatology Residency Training Program (1992-1995) serving as Chief Resident in his final year of Residency.

He became board certified in Dermatology in 1995, recertifying in 2005 and 2015 respectively. He continues to be actively certified by the American Board of Dermatology to date.

Following residency training, Dr. Ticoras went onto become the Chief of Dermatology at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, Arizona from 1995-1999. He also was appointed as Clinical Assistant Professor, Division of Dermatology, at the University Of Arizona College Of Medicine while in Tucson, Arizona. He taught medical students and residents in Dermatology. His military career spanned twelve years in total.

In April of 1999, Dr. Ticoras returned to Ohio and opened Advanced Dermatology of NCO, Inc serving patients in the communities of North Central Ohio and based in the Balgreen Building in Mansfield, Ohio. Since then, the practice has provided care to over 61,000 patients. His expertise is in General Dermatology (medical and surgical) to both adults and children. He has been recognized by the Consumer Research Council of America as one of the most outstanding Dermatologists in America and has served as President of the Richland County Medical Society and the Board of Trustees at The Ohio State University at Mansfield.

Dr. Ticoras and his wife, Heather, have five children.
